Build the 347, you'll love it. Just remember when you order heads, cam, intake to get big stuff. If you use regular 302 parts you'll still make the power of a 302.

I have been looking at the gt40 heads,It has been a while since I was into all this stuff but I still know that the heads are the most important part of the motor.(y)

You can buy a stroker kit and have your machine shop install it or you can buy a 347 or 331 short block all done. Theres a million choices out there.

What is your overall budget for the build? If its a tight budget, that will rule out some of the newer and much better and pricier heads. The factory GT40P's perform well but require special exhaust considerations.

Here is a link to a head comparison.

The page navigation is on the bottom

Edlebrock RPM Performer or RPM Air Gap is a good dual plane intake.

A Holley 650 would be a choice as is Demon and others.

Theres several header option depending if you are floor shift or column shift. Column shift options are fewer.

    Just a start
