I've suceeded in finding a 71 4dr Comet nearby to where I'm living now, including some very rust free parts such as the hood. The price IMO is right for it and rust is starting to show through the epoxy finished on the bottom of mine and the primer on the top indicating there's damage covered over. I didn't have a tape measure with me but would a 4dr hood off a 71 comet swap over to a 2dr 73? Also, what all do I need to make a front bumper swap from the same two cars? Would it work?

I got my mav hood off a four door. Fits fine. Bumper swap is just a bolt on deal no mods needed

Well I was definitely able to do it with extreme ease, although the more I think about it I'm just going to stay with the 73 bumper style. It grew on me, who knew? :) The new hood is still the original paint and with one exception at the very front of the hood has no tears or bad rust spots. I'm quite pleased. :D

Early Comet front bumpers are hard to find. I'd grab it and the brackets.
