Battery cables....That's what I think. Have you tried jumping the solenoid? Maybe your not getting the start signal from the ig switch. Still think it has to do with batt or cables. Do you know how to do a volt drop test? Loaded ground test?

This is what I got accomplished today: checked all wiring/cables; great condition. Jumped the solenoid, nothing. Jump started it with my other vehicle running, started great, idled fine. Switched batteries from my other vehicle to the Mav, nothing. Even tried switching alternators, new to old, old to new, and disconnected my amp. Called the local ford place and of course they were of no help. Any ideas?

Still think it's a cable problem, but i'm not the one looking at it. Sometimes the shielding can hide internal corrosion that creates intermident problems. Can you try streatching the cables while someone cranks it? might even try minipulating the wireing while cranking...

Dude, if you were here I'd kiss you. Went out and looked at the cables again. This time as I was removing the Neg from the battery, heard a spark. Removed it cleaned/restripped it placed it back and presto, fired up. Now I can put my newer alternator back on and reconnect my electric fan. I know everyone else said check those cables, guess it's just trial and error in everything we do. Now I can :drink: with a smile tonight.
