Gas tank problem solved

    Stock was 18(i belive for 76-77)

    aftermarkets are 19-22

    That must be the tank thats in my 73, it had a new tank when I bought it, and it's not a Ford tank, all the holes that hold the sending unit wiring clips to the side of the tank flange aren't there, looks like the straps are still the originals, so who knows??

    i read the stock (76-77) are 19.2 gals.
    i put one (stock) in my '73 and can put 22 gals. in it.

    1977 Maverick 2 door with a 302.
    I just checked one of my leftover owners manuals from the 76' Stallion we used to have, and it states the fuel tank capacity at 19.2 U.S. gallons. To answer 1972 Comet GT, the tank does not come with the sending unit. Thankfully I have a spare one that needs a float and a filter. I'll have them delivered today.

    Will one of these tanks fit a 73???? mine if bent and bufunked all up....my napa can get em' I just need to know if it will fit.
