its finally starting to look like an engine, and i'm getting nervous and ancios at same time , anyways here's some pics, and for those who's been following my how does alternator goes, here's how i ended up putting it, i did encounter a minor problem(ofcourse), my old pulley dosent fit my new harmonic balancer , it hits the water pump if i put it to the balancer, anyway to make a spacer or do i need to find a new pulley? i noticed my old balancer had some type of flange on it. one more thing on the intake manifold the water temp sensor goes where the green arrow correct? what goes in the other holes (red arrows)? ---Edwin
The hole with the green arrow is the heater hose pipe. The other one on the front is the temp sender. The rear holes in water will need to be plugged. You may need one of the rear holes in the intake runners to put in a vacuum "tree" for power brakes/transmission modulator/vacuum for a/c-heater controls. The other one will need to be plugged.
Very cool.... Should be assembling mine next week sometime. Is that a Performer RPM? I know on the standard Performer, the Temp sensor goes where your red arrow in the front is...
I always run the Vacuum Modulator for the transmission to the vacuum port on the carb pad(back side)on the intake. I also run the PCV to the large carb fitting(back side as well on most carbs) to avoid running rich/lean if just hooking it up to one of the runner specific access plugs. Who needs power brakes anyway? Just get your leg and foot in shape!!!! I ditch the vacuum advance on the dizzy and set it up using the mechanical advance(performance, performance, performance:evilsmile )What heads/cam/carb did you end up with? Maybe we can get you a basic starting point for timing and jets.
ok, here's the specs, its a 347 fully forged internally balanced with world roush 200 heads, cam is 560 exhaust and 538 intake i foget the duration its hyrdolic flat tappet lunati voodoo cam, the carb is street avanger 670 holley, ignition is full msd so no vacuum dizzy here
