Figured I'd take a photo while prepping the Grabber for a Car Show today ... My Driveway isn't big enough to get all 3 of my Fords in the picture ...
It's all in the family around here. I meant to post these pictures awhile back...Dan just reminded me whith this post so I thought I would take advantage of it to post these. My family threw a 50th Anniversary Party for my dad back in the Spring. He has been selling Fords (and ONLY Fords) since 1956. Invited all his current and past co-workers, previous customers, family, etc. (He still works 3 days a week...so it wasn't a retirement party) We decided to line up all the old Fords that are in the family for people to look at and remember when my Dad used to sell these cars NEW. From left to right we have my Dad's 1953 Ford F-100, my brother's 1969 Ford Fairlane 500 2-door Formal roof, my 1971 Ford Maverick 2-door, my 1974 Ford Maverick 2-door LDO, my 1976 Ford LTD station wagon, and my Dad's 1979 Ford Ranchero. Missing from the picture because we just didn't have the room is my orange 1972 Maverick Grabber, my brother's 1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra formal roof and his 1996 Ford Bronco, and my sister's 1999 Ford Mustang Convertible. It made for quite a site!! We had lots of old ford collectibles on display inside for people to look at as well. I wore an old Ford mechanics uniform for the day.
Very cool!! All's I have pics of is my old beater Mavericks sitting together. Thought this was pretty cool though. From parts car, to work in progress, to driving up and down the road daily.
That's a great picture! My Grabber looked like that in 80 or 81 when I bought it, and I put slot mags on it too. Now it's Imron red, paint is shot (over 20 years old) and no slots, wish I could find five hole slots cheap for it. Plus I have a yellow 69 Mustang! So I can really relate to this picture, it reminds me of my stuff (sort of)
Looks great DMH ! I love the new Mustang !! They really did a good job on that design. I'm holding out, waiting for the new Challenger to decide which one to get. Don't get me wrong I like Fords and I love my Maverick but there ain't no car like a MOPAR !! Especially a new retro Challenger, as long as it looks like the prototype.
The Challenger looks nice ... I doubt you're gonna be able to get one the first year for MSRP though ... I'm sure dealers will be marking them up .... I remember when PT Cruiser first came out and dealers were getting $2k to $4k over sticker for them ..
You're right. I got one for the wife. She loved the body style. Ever since that car, I've made a rule to never buy a car unless it's been out for at least a year. That thing was an absolute disappointment. Gas hog, poor performance etc. And it would have been better received if it were on a truck platform instead of the Neon platform. Oh well, live and learn.
