Although it seems it's just for parts sometimes... it's under construction awaiting to become any of the other four. It will never be a show car so that leaves me with becoming any of the three other than show. It isn't fast enough to be just a racer so now I hope for being at least one of the two left over. I already have a driver so that leaves only one option to acheive... cruiser...and that's all I hope for.:drive: . A Comet to cruise me to all the meets I can get to(y)
Edit: Lets do this in a year and see where were at...

one race and one street....the street car is in much better shape than the race car (body wise) neither see much action of any kind...and like Dan, I try not to let the yellow one get wet....not to protect anything but the solid body.

I agree with Ray...no need for intimidation Honey74Comet....there are some real nice cars that are pictured on this board...then there are cars like mine....that take decent pictures :(

Thanks to TONS of great advice from this forum :tiphat:, and helpful people sharing their previous experiences and hard work , I've got my suspension on and it is (technically) now a "rolling" chassis. It won't stop, but at least it could go!

Hopefully when I get 'er running I'll drive her hard and get 'er dirty down at the race track... We'll see if my first car project holds up!

Well - I voted Cruiser because it was in the middle. Mine happens to be an unfinished primer painted race car that I happened to slap a registration tag on when the state changed the rules on what is an "Antique car". Only gets driven on nice days because there is no room for a hood and the gears and converter don't make a daily driver. I guess mine is a "tweener". It is between all the other categories.

Most people here have more than one Maverick.

My list sounds somewhat like Don's except the driver is a '70 Torino.....and the race car is considerably slower:cool:

Mines good enough to be a daily driver, but it sleeps during the week so I can cruz it on the weekends

Bob...I can't handle this. I'm trying to work and all of a sudden your avatar pops up. Can we put some black sensor tape across those headlights, at least until after hours. It's tough to concentrate on my work buddy. :(

without Comet now just keeping in touch
Looks good form the end of my 120 foot driveway, even makes a nice coffe mug pict,
I finally have it driveable, but the motor has a ratlling noise, ( valves) and needs qaurters and fenders fixed, and the top sealed and a new vinyl top. Seats have split seems,
But all in all it is very solid, just not "pretty" .. YET. I'd not call it a beater, not with new starter, alternator, voltager regualtor, brakes, and no major dents. I'd be proud to drive it daily, jsut need 2 new front tires now, and a new muffler.

Someone needs to redo the math up there. add them all up 125.01% ??????? 96 voters and 120 votes cast but the % seems to be based on voters not votes cast. Under construction is leading but at 38.333333%
