I know this is an old ressurected post... but I have issue with some of the newest 'johnny come late' posts. Just because the Torker 289 is a single plane intake, that doesn't mean it is for "strokers with big valves"! That single plane intake is VERY mild as single planes go. As for "RPM will outperform the Torker 289", that's a joke. I know from experience. I pulled a T289 off my engine once, didn't change anything else... Put on a brand new RPM, and LOST power. It was same-same on bottom end, after about 2000 rpm the difference was very apparent. Above that, the intake felt lazy, revved slower, and above 4k it felt like it fell on it's face. I know it revved up 6k, but it was weak compared to the T289. T289 is a very mild single plane and makes great street torque as well as quick revs and top end. Best intake ever made for an SBF. Now, to all the folks that still want to answer this old post: The original post is on a 351w!
With a torch, jigsaw, lots of JB weld and bubble gum I could make an edelhouzer fit my 250, but I'd still have to cut the carb in half. Sorry guys, been working on my Mav in the heat and just had to do this for comic relief
