I just picked up a Grabber hood from the Greyhound station! It has been said on this board before, and I will repeat it here . . . "Greyhound is one of the best and cheapest places ship your large parcels.

I have had fenders and now hoods shipped Greyhound, it is one of the better ways to ship! Only $50.00 to ship the hood!

    Just my .02! :D

Do they call you when it arrives? How exactly does it work. I have been looking into it for myself in a while. Thanks. Glad you're happy. :D

EFIMAV, yes I am. Sometimes you are never 100% sure until you see something in person, because you never know what the camera may have missed. I am real happy with the hood, it is just like you described it. The hood is pretty solid. Thanks for your help with the pics etc. I appreciate it!

Corbin, Greyhound does not call you, but since I do not have a truck to pick up the larger parcels, I just let the parts sit there at Greyhound for a couple days after it was shipped, and then I call them when I am ready to pick up the parts to verify that all the boxes made it etc., because sometimes if there is multiple boxes they may go on different buses because of space limitations ie. how much luggage etc. Everyone I have dealt with at Greyhound has been very helpful! I have had some boxes get separated because they were not marked well, and they went to another station, but that station would then call me, and I would tell them where it had to go, and they took care of it for me, and it always showed up. I would recommend them to anybody. For me it is the only way to ship the larger parts. I hope this helps.

Hi, I have a hood I am going to ebay and throw on greyhound just like you did.

How did you package it, do you have pics?? If not, maybe you could describe it.

What I was thinking of doing was to wrap it in bubble wrap, then tape cardboard to the front and back.

    What did you do??

    Jeremy,

I did not actually ship it, but it was shipped to me. I did take pictures of it before I opened it, just in case I ever had to ship a hood it would give me something to fall back on as a reference. I will get you some pics in a couple of days.

    Later.

One packaging method that offers very good protection against damage is to build a simple crate around the hood using 2x4's and a couple sheets of plywood.
