What a freaking deal, $200 delivered. It's a longblock from a 95 cobra. It has the gt40 heads. I'll be using the heads on a rebuilt 86 shortblock roller engine that I've got ready to go. Woot woot. now which cam to run? We'll see
it is an 86 roller block, so it's gonna have a roller cam, just not sure which roller to run with yet. no, it's been rebuilt with keith black pistons. the valve reliefs are a LOT bigger than what I want, hopefully I don't lose too much power, but I got that block on a good deal too. not sure what to do with the 95 cobra motor yet, may sell it to a friend this is a pic of the pistons in the 86 block right now
Jeremy, looks good. I just bought an 87 Mustang hatch I'm putting a 5.0 in. I could use some of your expert advice on 5.0 stuff. I'll send you a PM. Maybe I could check out your Maverick one of these days too...I'll be at Fontana on October 6-8 racing in the PSCA race with the Mav. How far is Fontana from you?
fontana is just a few minutes from me. I never go there though, because all of the ricers, it's just swamped with them. so much so, that you can't get but one run in if you're lucky. irwindale on thursdays nights is better (1/8th mile) or palmdale. palmdale is a hell of a cruise, and it's hot and high, but you can hotlap it if you want
Yeah, but at the Test N Tune on Fridays at PSCA races, there's no rice and you can get 10+ runs on a well prepped track. It's awesome and there's usually some Mustangs/street cars.
I need to hit that, My explorer-mustang project is nearly complete (it's running, i'm just "test and tuning it" and need to start racing it. Maybe I'll go soon. I just need to get the smog out of the way first.
