i am george and just wanted to say hello. i am a painter in upper end body shop in new jersey. my wife has a 1972 maverick that i bought for her 14 years agao, when she turned 18.(highschool sweethearts). it has gone from red 6 cylinder,4 lug wheels,to a green v-8 powered 5 lugged wheel car. i will try to post a pic soon. my maverick is just bought, off of racingjunk.com,tube frame tubbed out full race maverick. a 1970 car. i bought it rolling to put my drive train in. i currently have a 1971 lemans street car, with a 28x11.50 slick, full exhaust, all steel body and a weight with me in it of 4200 pounds. it is on a convertible boxed frame with a cage and all. it has a big block chevy,468 inch, with some nitrous. i ran a 9.91 at atco last fall with it,then broke the 9 inch strange aluminum third member on the next pass.(it broke the spider gears in the posi unit. maverick will be a spool). so now the whole chevy drive train is going in the 2080 pound roller maverick. should be about 2600 pounds when done.the maverick is all steel right now also,so i have some more weight i can shed if i want later. it should be a fun and alot more safe ride. hope you guys don't hate me for chevy power, but it is there and already paid for,so in it goes. well enough rambling. glad to me you guys.----george and karen p.s. i welcome any bodyshop questions if i can help.
