And I cant figure out which one to go with..
Half of me wants to stay old school and get a teardrop bolt on scoop
The other half wants a cowl induction hood 3in
And then theres the grabber hood..
Heres what I need,,Any pics of cars with these hoods on them to help me make up my mind..Also..How much clearance does a grabber hood have over a stock flat hood????Thanks Guys,,Cars coming together nicely,Should have the engine from the machine shop here in the next few days..I already got the nine in cut down and installed 33 spline axles spool and 3.70 richmond gears...thanks again,Roger

I'd say get MaverickMan's carbon fiber cowl hood. It's light, fits great, gives a lot of extra clearance, and the cowl probably works much better than most other scoops.

I don't think the Grabber hood has any more space than the flat hood. I have a Victor Jr. on a 302 based engine with a 4150 carb and 1" spacer and I still have about 1/2" of clearance. I stayed with the Grabber hood because my car is a Grabber clone and I like the stock look.

had the teardrop on my old mustang. good carb clearance, but bad in the weather. the screened vents let in the rain, snow, etc. unless a garaged track only car. i'd say go for the cowl scoop.

Picture the 3" cowl induction hood with the Grabber snorkles on the sides and the tear-drop on top of that......Really cool lookin'.....I would personally loose the tear-drop though

I dont think ive ever seen a tear drop on a maverick. does anyone have a pic of one? I know a guy with a full one-piece fiberglass hood and tear drop on his '64 Fairlane, looks nice but it only ever sees nice summer weather and the inside of his garage

3" cowl looks good on these cars, teardrop is a bit too old school for a Mav IMO,they're more of an early-mid '60s type scoop.

since you are all talking about it... who makes a good fiberglass hood that fits correctly without trimming needed.

i am looking at also getting a 2 or 3 inch cowl hood. but now sure where to go...

I prefer the factory flat hood with it's great lines.

I think you should, talk to MAVERICKMAN he has the carbon fiber cowl. I think we should all try to support one another.

Carbon fiber can be painted , will then look just like any other glass hood. What I'm saying is the man has a very good product ,and he took the time to make something special for a Maverick, Even if it cost a few dollars more, try to give him the business
