Are you talking about the spring perches on the front end? What bushing was a bearing?

Global West makes lower control arms with spherical aircraft bearings on the inner mount where you would normally have a rubber bushing. They also make strut rods with a heim joint instead of the normal rubber or urethane bushings.

Ron Morris Performance makes a compleat front coilover conversion that uses heim joints every place that you would normally find a bushing on the front suspension.

Total Control Products also make upper and lower control arms as well as strut rods with heim joints.

Mustangs Plus sells roller bearing equipped spring perches.

The advantage of using bearings instead of bushings is that the suspension can move more freely and therefore react faster to bumps. The disadvantage is that the bushings act as a shock absorber that remove a lot of the ride harshness. Without the rubber, you feel every little imperfection in the road.

If you are road racing, go with bearings for tighter, more predictable suspension motion. Remember to inspect these components regularly for wear, or signs of impending failure.

If you are going to use the car as your daily driver, use rubber or urethane bushings to make the ride more livable.

My front suspension has NO busings in it. Only spherical bearings or greaseable bearings.

For drag racing, bearings allow the front end to rise faster and assist with weight transfer to the rear. (y)

Whose components did you use for your suspension? How do you like the ride quality? Do you use your car on the street much? Tell us about the amount of noise transfered to the body? What do you see as the pluses and minuses of these front end parts?

Please tell us your experience with the suspension so others can learn from what you have already done?

i believe he's talking about his friends camaro. there's an article on ford muscle about the rollerized lower control arms for the front end of fords. it's in the july issue. i think i also saw it a while back in one of the ford magazines.

Yup, those parts will work on Mavs. I've been considering doing this following his directions for some time. Maybe this winter.

I have a set of roller perches in my '68 Mustang that I got through a trade with a guy named Day Scovel of Dazes cars, http://home.bresnan.net/%7Edazed/opentracker . Day had emailed me wanting a set of SN-95 Mustang V6/GT rear disc conversion brackets for 8- & 9-inch rear ends that I sell, to put on his Mustang. Since my brackets were the same price as his roller perches, we just made an even swap. http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/1949/g2con68001vm3.jpg

Daze' roller perches are very good quality, and I'm very satified with them.
