Found a fair 74 2dr to make into my daily driver. No engine or trans, and it has taken on some dope in the usual places, but I didn't think it was all that bad for $300. The owner said if i hadn't come along it would have been destin for (if your weak don't read any futher) THE CRUSHER!!! For now i think i just want to get an engine and trans in it, sand and prime that ugly green away and do away with the big bumpers.

The scoop is almost worth $300 by its self.

I will try to keep that in mind, as i am not sure what syle hood i want to go with. The entire hood has very little rust on it and it is all steel no dope.

    Why would that be?
I have seen the repops going for under 100 bux if you go to the right source.
That scoop is like the Ford version with the indent in the rear for turn signals... It was used on several different cars over several years, so they are somewhat common. If someone doesn't know how many cars they fit, you can find them on eBay with just Montego or Cougar listed, so they don't get many bids.

    Oh yeah, good score! ;)

Try the bumper slide on it, or better yet, try the Futura aluminum bumpers!

IT looks like a Comet GT scoop to me. If so, last one on ebay went for big bucks. As usual, the repros lack the quality of the real thing.

No, I was comparing it to the other scoop that was used on a plethora of Fords.
It is the GT scoop, however it was also used on many other Mercs.
Just like the Stang scoop, if you list it on eBay as a Stang scoop, it gets bid up high. Even though the scoop you are selling may have actually come off a Fairlane. Same scoop.
Now if you list that scoop as a Fairlane scoop and leave the Stang out of the listing, you won't get nearly as many bidders or money for it.
Same with a Montego scoop. Same as the Comet GT, but if the seller only lists it to fit a Montego, it goes dirt cheap. Seen it happen.
