    LOL...........yeah I hope so

I've been thinking about all my options and I believe I'll wait until early April unless of course I find one in the mean time that's exactly what I'm wanting. My garage is full of snowmobiles now and melt off from them is every where. This will give me time to round up some engine goodies and other things I want to do to the car, my preference is for a Comet GT, this was my first car. I could clone one from a Maverick if the right one presents it's self. If it's a Maverick I'd want a 69-1/2' or 70' unless someone persuades me to a newer version for mechanical reasons, i.e. brakes, axles or something that makes them a better builder candidate. Thus far I see know reason to want anything newer and know one has said any different. I'm failry picky so I figure it will be a while before I find exactly what I'm looking for. Being picky is a good thing, (not according to my wife.....LOL), wouldn't have it any other way.
THX everyone you've all been a great help already and I've enjoyed reading page after page of threads on the forum. It's sure going to be nice having the distributor in the front of the block instead of the back pinched between the fire wall..... I have spent many hours bent over Chevy's messing with the timing and had some close calls with back fires...scorched the beard a few times...LOL. I'm glad those days are going to be fewer and fewer. I sold my K-5 last summer I've been playing with and building for 7 years, was fun but getting to expensive to drive, 4mpg on 100LL for a daily driver wasn't so friendly on the check book . I do have a stroker SBC that would be a screamer in a Maverick chassis...... 550 h.p. NA at the crank with a 150 horse squeeze....HMMM......LMAO, just kidding :D

Yeah I've been watching several places and I seen that, I'm going to hold out for a Comet GT or possibly a 3 speed manual version for now. When it get's closer to spring I may become more impatient ......LOL. I would rather start with something unique, unless I wait a while and don't find what I want then I'll just buy one of the many ordinary availables.

    looking for a 351W Maverick
I've got my eye on this one. I'm going to go drive it this Sunday. I'll let you know what's up with it. The second listing, the guy has a reserve of almost $10,000.00 and he's out of his mind as it has already had over 100 1/4 mile runs on the engine this year alone. I'm hot to get my hands on a properly built 351 that will blow your socks off "tight" and operational, but alas, these guys want a lot of money for barain basement dragsters with questionable engine life. Here's the two links on e-bay:

*$10,000.00 dollar reserve and no nitrous oxide,...hmmm, I don't think so!

Later folks and keep your eyes open for me please!!!

You described what I sen to the TEE!!!

Nothing more than average at an above average price.......not what i'm looking for. I also have to consider that what I buy must be from a SOLID, reputable source because it will most likely be site un seen and then shipped to me. This is a big reason why I'm going to be quite selective in my decision.
5.13 gears.....LMFAO..... sure smart buddy. I ran 5.13's in a K-5 Blazer with a lotta h.p. and 40" swampers, they were still to low to reasonably drive on the highway..........ran like a raped ape though :D

Check out my message in Auctions for a Comet GT in San Leandro, CA. He's asking $2K and it's negotiatable. He says there's carborator problems (probably easy to fix), and a little rust. Still a good price for a GT, which are more rare than Grabbers. I know a mechanic who could go over and look at it for you for a small fee.

Here is a Maverick I found out of Talent, OR. Looks like a clean car. Like the seller says the drivers seat is a little worn out, but the paint looks nice. It looks to have 5 lugs all the way around. The car can be seen at Onlineauctions.com.
