    what is the correct gap setting for the spark plugs for a competely stock 250? anyone know?

    Depends if it is electronic ignition or points, .035 is correct for points, and I think it is .045 for electronic ignition.

    The recommended gap for your plugs is .035" but I have found that for my kind of driving at least you get better performance and milage with a smaller gap. I gap my plugs at .028" and put up with the incipient miss at idle. My wife's driving is better suited to .030" because there is no miss at an idle. Back in the 70's the factory setting was .034" and the gap gauges all had that one special gauge for the Ford plugs. You might try different gaps to see what your engine likes best. It won't hurt anything and you might find a couple of miles per gallons and extra HP in there.
