Well, I took my new Mav to strip for the second time today. I ran low 12's again, and traction was still an issue, because I haven't got my slicks. HOWEVER, this time I went through 6 rounds of eliminations and made it all the way to the final round. Unfortunately my launch/reaction time was a little off on the last run, so I ended up loosing by a lousy .016 seconds, to a stinking Chevy no less:(

All in all it was a great day, and now maybe my friends will lay off razzing me about selling a big block Torino in order to buy a small block Maverick (The Torino never got anywhere near a final round);)

Congratulations on the Final round , it takes a lot to get there I know ! What kind of payout do you have down there and what track is it ? Locally we have quite a discussion about fair payouts ! Thanks guys. I just hope it wasn't a fluke.

Richard, you asked about the typical pay outs here in the states. Attached is a link to Ubly Dragway where I usually race. It is located in the thumb area of Michigan. I also race at Milan Dragway in south-east MI. Payouts there are pretty similar. I haven't had time to check out the website you referenced, but I will try to do so in a few weeks, after the racing season ends and I begin my annual five-month depression cycle :)
