The studs in the new converter can be removed and have a hexagonal key slot in one end. Before doing any mods to the flex plate I will check If I can screw the studs in by first mating the plate and the converter and then installing the studs. I probably won't have time until next weekend to continue work on this.

I also decided to have new cooler lines made, the cooler lines were rubber fuel hoses, and I don't like it. I will have them made from steel tubes, just have to figure out the length with a piece of string.

Does anybody have a picture of how the cooler lines are originally routed?

Installed the transmission on the weekend, and got the beast back on it's feet last night. Took a short test-run and everything seems OK. Feels a little strange driving with the new converter because of the different stall speed, takes off like a rocket if you're not careful :)
