Jean, Can't wait to see it put back together. That is a beautiful color, nice and bright, it will demand attention! You're doing a great job! Can't wait to see one of my Mavericks get into that "phase" of a repaint... as you said though, time and money, lol. Art
Sorry I'm late posting been off for a couple days. That is awesome Jean, I thought you painted all the time? What color red? My wife saw a dodge truck the other day with the viper motor and asked why I didn't paint one of the mavs that red? It was the brightest red I have seen in a whileyours looks like that. As always keep posting those progress pics.
My husband usually paints the cars because he has done it much longer than I have. He's also a bit taller than me. I'm rather on the short side, so that makes it difficult for me to reach across long hoods and tall roofs without leaning into the car while I'm painting. I'm trying to rig up a light-weight, portable cat walk to allieviate that problem. The color of the paint is the stock Ford Bright Red for that year. It's a much brighter red than is on my other 77' Maverick, which looks almost orange in comparison. I'm hoping that by the end of today the interior will be completely back in the car. The headliner gave us fits. We have installed other headliners in Mavericks before without a hitch, but this one just will not fit right. Apparently one of the rear panels was not sewn in correctly, so no matter what we do we can not get rid of some of the wrinkles. We are hoping that the heat from the sun will in time shrink the headiner enough to pull the wrinkles out. Once the interior is back in place I will take some pics of it.
