hi guys i rebuilt my edelbrock (1st time ever and i think i did ok i notice a definate difference now i took all the brackets off the motor to repaint them and stuff and i wanted to get at the timing marks so i could mark them for easier viewing i grabbed the crank pulley and nudged it around and i noticed that it moves a 1/4 of an inch each way before the rotor starts to turn is this play normal also anyone know what i should time this motor at its an 85 h/o 302 but it has the original point ignition in it i noticed the firing order for this 85 motor is the same as the 70 351 so i gapped the points to those specs as well wich shows it to be .021 the book calls for 10 degrees btc think that will be ok ?
are you saying that the crank pulley moves 1/4 inch both wayes befor the crank moves, or befor the rotor in the distributor moves?
