    I'm impressed with these e.t.'s I'm seeing with the MPH around 94ish. I suppose I've been used to the heavier fox bodies.

    Less weight - Another reason why Mavericks rock!:thumbs2:

    I'd be willing to bet the the Mustang you referred to would run at least 6.80's with an improved 60' time. I also think Scrapper may even be able to eek out 1-2 mph if he can get his 60' time down to where it should be.

    Maybe that's what it was. My car was doped. My 60's were 1.5's. It was a heavyazz vert on top of being the heavier fox body Mustang.

    Heck, if you weren't running Nitrous at the time, you may as well stayed home. Now, the turbo's are taking over down here - and in a BIG way. :eek:

    No power adders.
    Don, on the tire pressure, I always let a little air out too. I tried putting more in because another old hand told me to try it because he had run the same tire and it had helped with higher psi. I like this tire as it seems to have a stickier compound and doesn't need a long burnout to heat them.
    I may have to go to another tire if it keeps spinning. Will try again next week.

    if you have to stay with a dot tire. i highly reccommend the M/T et street drag radial. i run them now and really like them. i run 19 pounds of pressure in them. :)

    they definitely feel a lot better at the top end. no squirrely feeling, like you get with the slicks.:)

    Any suggestions on how to eliminate the wheel spin? All stock stuff under it now 'cept the cal tracs. Going to get started on a 9" soon, so now is the time to change other things if needed.
    What about clamping the springs, or new, stiffer leaf springs, adjustable gas shocks?

    I think I mentioned (I'm not going to go look again - I'm tarred) this already.

    'Sounds like you need to allow the weight of your car to shift to the rear (more).

    Drag shocks will help (90/10 in front 50/50 or adjustable in rear).

    Maybe try clamping the leaf springs or getting mono leafs from Calvert, lowering the air pressure, do a smokey burnout the first run of the day, front shocks, lowering the launch rpm, and just keep trying.:huh:

    what rpm are you leaving at? i have a 9" but everything else is pretty much stock.

    yeah, if you can get the front end to lift quickly (90/10 and get some old 6 banger springs that are wore out), that will add some weight to the back.....might even try "adding" weight to the trunk. Or take some weight off the front, that will inturn increase the weight ratio in the back.
    Trial trial and more trial.

    something else to think about.....you might tweak on your timing curve a little. Not sure what ignition system you are using, but if you can curve it to keep the timing down a little at the initial hit of the throttle, it will help.

    One other thing that I did when I ran stock suspension......is brake torqued the **** out of it, this gave really much better weight transfer and actually helped plant the rear tires.

    The front suspension is stock, 35 year old 6 cyl springs, stock replacement shocks that are well worn, swaybar removed. When I started restoring this car, I replaced worn components.
    This setup worked well in 05 with old engine, hooked good.

    Another question, I've borrowed some 27x10.5-15 MT ET Street Slicks. Am I going to be able to fit them in there. From the search, most thinking is 26x10s.

    To clarify my above posts on the tires I had on at the strip, they are MT ET Street Radials. Sorry for my confusion.
