ok i have and audio question. im not sure how many of you have degraded your classic cars by putting a stereo in, but truth is i'd like to do the same. I was wondering if, and how, it's possible to put in a cd player without making it visible in the dash. I know one option is to put it in the glove box. but surly there's another way to install a cd player without ruining the 70's facade or the dash.
under the seat of course with some careful mounting , and a 6 disc CD changer under the other side so you dont have to change the CD ever hour
Why not put a changer in the trunk like many of the new cars? I actually put a 10-disc unit under the driver's seat of mine. I doubt you'll get one in the glovebox, as it's not deep enough and the heater box is right behind it.
looks like that unit controls a remote mounted cd changer,....but it would give more of a stock look. (eeewwwww,....stock..... )
Not enough depth in the glovebox of these cars, especially with A/C cars. Mine is in the console box(I added a '71-'73 Mustang/Cougar full length console). Stock AM radio is in the dash. Seth
my stereo was put under the dash... it looked great until my soon to be ex took out the stereo so we could put it in her truck.. oh well.. i dont need one... i like the sound of the exhaust
YES! thats the james bond type gear i'm looking for! is there anyone on the forum who has this product? i notice there and a few varieties. deffinalty have to make sure it will install cleanly.
Im sure they will install cleanly no matter which one you would decide to choose because they are all based on a universal Chassis style mounting system. So in short the radios all had a spec in which they were built. Kinda like the new DIN 1.5 din or Double Din style mounts that new radios are made on.
