the 185x75 or 85x14 are good. Just make sure you get the higher speed rated ones. MT is the best.

I race every weekend ], and work on Race cars everyday. And I haven't seen a 14 inch tire on a Race car in years. I own 2 race cars and there are 3 more in the shop and every one of them have 165/80/15 radial tires on 15x3.5 wheels.you can buy the tires new at most any tire store for under 50.00.

On my street Cars I have always ran BFG Radial T/A tires and I have had good luck with them the MT Tire are great tires but on the street they will last about a minute. while even dogging on the BFGs you can get 20,000 on them

what kind of traction do you get off the BFG drag radials compared to the ET streets?

i have heard the BFG drag radials are not that great for traction on the strip

the ET streets do hook up better no doubt but they are good for about 1000 miles on the street co,pared to 20000 for the BFGs. By you a set of slicks mount them on Different wheels and swap them out when you get to the tracl. I did that for years , until I built my first Full on trailered Race car

as the qusetion was street/strip use a Weld draglite 14x6" with 185x75x14 and they'll work on both street/strip. Your won't have any fender problems either.

i have 15x3.5x15 centerlines with 165/80R/15 on my 74 comet and i have 3 inches of clearance all the way around between the tire and fender. I also run the 165/80R/15 on my 65 mustang Drag car and my 65 Fairlane street car. and there are no clearance problems with either. the only thing is you can't do a lot of fast cornring with them
