Today I spent the time to sandblasted the valve covers and oil pan that I wanted to use on my 73. Well, after a days worth of sand blasting and painting...I've decided that there not good enough for the car, they just don't look "new". Whats next? a new windshield? (that thought has crossed my mind) It creeped up on me, this car was suppose to be my fun car, now..I'm not sure :hmmm:

    Dave Buddy,
...you are bonding with your car...

    it's a hobby car...

if my electrics didn't send me over the edge then an oilpan and a set of valve covers should be a snap...

    ...:bouncy:...

I know what you mean Dave. I tore my motor down, & had the machinework done. When I got it back, I painted it ford blue, carefully masking off the brass freeze plugs. I have scrubbed the timing-chain cover 3 times. It still looks 38 years old. I have'nt even started on the oilpan yet. I've considered painting the timing cover alum. & maybe buying a moroso or milidon oilpan. Depending on the intended use of the vehicle I would paint it, & make it look new. what more can you do? Good Luck & Have fun

I have used bondo on valve covers,,, not cause they were dented, cause when they were made they were not perfect. Every time I look at them I laugh at myself. Relax Dave,,,, sometimes this will all drive ya nuts,, its okay.
