does anyone know which way the frame stands are suppose to go? does the offset side of the frame stand go toward the front or back of the car? either way I put them the distance is off. I measered from the flat surface of the bell housing to the front side of the mav frame and I get 14-3/4" when I measure the distance from the back of the motor to the front side of the new frame stand, I get 14". could there be that much play in the trans when the motor goes in? I can't believe for what crites charges for this with nothing but a bunch of crumpled news paper in the box.

    thanks
    c.b.

If those are original frame stands they are stamped L and R, L being the drivers side and R being the pasenger side. If that doesn't help,I'll try to get a pic tommorrow to show a set installed....

they are made to be the same as the originals. they are marked left and right but they are offset to make the motor mount either further forward or further back. pics would be great thanks!

The offset goes to the back.

Did you plant that poison there to keep people from stealing your parts?

I bought my mav with no engine, but the stands were in the car.
I now see that they are put in WRONG.

Thanks for saving my both time and greef.

o.k., I put the frame stands in correct. now I can't get the motor mount hole to line up with the frame stand hole. I need to move it over about 1/4" but the header is hitting the shock tower. the headers are in the way on the drivers side. do I need to beet the s$%& out of the headers to make it work? also do I need to remove the power steering hoses? the throttle linkage is another story.
