fuel fillter

    fuel filter installed

    has anyone put a canister type filter either before the fuel pump or after. what type and how does it perform? the thought came to me after reading the rust in gas tank post...frank...:bananaman L.T.N.G.

    I just have a cheapo inline filter installed in front of the fuel pump. I learned the hard way after ruining a fuel pump because the car ran out of gas and all the sediment from the tank got sucked into the pump. :(

    o.k. i did it. :bananaman i put an inline filter on today. it is also a water separator. it has a drain on the bottom like on a rad. i plumbed it ahead of the fuel pump. it mounted neatly under the horn. there were two holes there where something used to live. i also have a clear filter ahead of the carb. this way i can see if it is working. thanks for looking...frank...:bananaman L.T.N.G.

    I use the same type of filter only a purolator infront of an electric with no problelms if that helps at all . It is mounted as low as I could get it too .
