i am currently swapping my I6 250 and am about set to crank the 302 over. My question is the electrical. I'm not sure where the 6 electrical leads. I understand that one will go to the Thermostat, One to the oil sensor, the others, I have no idea. Problem is which goes where. Thanks in advance for your help.

you probably have an electric choke on the carb. you got the dizzy hooked up already too right? make sure the block is grounded as well, the neg battery cable and also the ground strap near the back

Have no idea what a dizzy is. The electrical choke, I thought went from the carb to the Alternator. The 6 leads I have are located in back. 1 (I think the oil sensor) comes out in front of the pass seat. The other five orig. in front of the drivers side. There are two connectors, one with 2 wires and the other with 3.

I'll try to get out a picture if I can get it small enough to post.

"dizzy" is slang for the distributor, the thing all the spark plug wires lead into near the front of the block, one wire will go off to the ignigtion coil which will need a 12v power supply. im not really famiular with v8 mavs, both mine are I6's

for posting pics i usually use www.imageshack.us, it will give you the option to resize your images before you upload them

Newtoford, thanks for the hosting site.

Since you have a I-6 and I just swapped out a blown engine, can you tell me where the electrical lines in the picture go. At least you can trace them, I don't have my 250, I traded it in as a core. The connectors are at the rear of the engine compartment infront of the driver.

you can also use the "edit" feature at the bottom right of your posts to go back and edit them so you dont need to 2x post when you want to add or change things.

the only pic im able to see ia about the size of a stamp but it looks like your holding the harnes for the ignigtion system. 2 of those wires should lead off to the coil and the rest plug into the ignigtion module below the tank where your washer fluid goes. but then again im not sure if '73's had electronic ignigtion? you shouldnd have any bare wires, everything should have some kind of plug on the end unless theve been cut. some one whos done the I6-V8 swap can probably help you alot more than me

    good luck
