a/c thermomatic siwitch

    Does anybody know how to test the a/c thermomatic switch, its the switch on the a/c box that has long rod, that goes into the evaporator, and theres two electrical connections, whats the function of this? and is there a way to test and see if it working? thanks!! mike(y)

    im hooking everything up, i havent charged it, or gotten new lines yet, but i wanna make sure everything insside car is in working condition

    The switch cycles the compressor and keeps your evaporator from turning into a block of ice. You could stick the end in a cup of ice and see if it opens with an ohmmeter. If you want to go nuts with it, you could actually test it against the set points, but I have no idea where exactly they should be, so you'll have to find out from someone else.
