well i am gonna get rid of my maverick. i have a special project in store for myself. i dont really want to but heres my plan. my mother is getting a lil older and more and more in worse health. she as a 68 camaro that has been her dream car since she was sixteen. she got this car 8 years ago and has been unable to work on it and it has been sitting under a tarp ever since. i would like to get the car from her and restore it. she says i can have it at any time i mak the trip to get it.(she lives in texas and i am in georgia) my plan is to sell my maverick , get her car, restore it, and take it to let her drive it for the first time ever. before she gets in too bad of health to enjoy it or be able to drive it. the reason i have to sell my maverick is because i have absolutely no room too keep both. the camaro will be my car when i get it but i want her to be able to enjoy it at least once. she has wanted this car since she ws sixteen. no my questions are about the value of my car as this will be a VERY tight budgeted project. its a 72 4 door body is straight.. very little rust. the only rust thrugh spot is under the battery. the usual hood lip rust not major but there. a lil spot on the back panel near the ground that is surface. and some minor surface in the trunk. as for what i have done.. the motor is rebuilt but still has a few quirks im sure someone can iron them out easily. it IS very driveable but the most major flaw is the brakes. they grind and need to be redone. it has no power steering, ac(it used to , i took it out, never worked) and no power brakes. also it is not the orginal steering wheel. i drove it on sundays to work but since the brakes went sour on me i havent driven it in 3 weeks. im sure it needs an alignment. the thing is i would really like it to go to someone who would appreciate a 4 door. i know there are lots of 4 door haters on here but i love the car. needs some work but easily restoreable to someone. i might get another one someday but this camaro is gonna take me a long while. and i need to start soon. basically im looking to make my mom happy and fulfill a dream for her. please forgive me for using the "c" word but if thats what it takes.. i thank ya'll in advance for your comments.

It's a noble project, unfortunate you have to sell your Mav, somehting are more important that F VS C, Hey nmaby someone will see the 'marao and say hey is that a Maverick? Most on here know what I mean by that one, anyway good luck, and don't stop checking in here. a lot of the info on here is universal to all classic cars, plus you'll want to sang another Mav/ or Comet.. Someday. good luck on your project.

Yeah but apparently you haveto be "blessed" enough to live on the Left coast to qualify to get Overhauled, I love that show but I have yet to see one outside of California/ I'd think think a Comet or Maverick woulld be a greeat "canvas" for a guy like that.

never did get around to changing it over.. never did find the front.. matter of fact.. that 5-lug rear axle is still n the basement and will go witht eh car if they buyer wants it. along with teh orginal valve cover..... as for how much i want out of it.. probably just enough to cover some of my expenses in the parts i redid.. i dunno... 6-700? something like that probably. its a great car.. got its problems but very fixable.

Sorry you will have to get rid of the Maverick. But I like the idea! I would try the Overhaulin idea though, can't hurt.

Let's face it; a '68 Camaro is way cooler than a 4-door Maverick. I think you are making the right choice...

No Cheby is cooler than a Maverick! They might be cheaper to build, have way more parts availability and more "street appeal" but no way are they cooler.
