Been looking for a ford factory bucket seats for my 70 Mav and found a set from am early Pinto today. Do these fit well with modifications. I mention mod because I know some work will need to be done. I only paid $40 bucks for the pair and they are in excellent condition...

What's at stake here in terms of look in the car and fit. I've researched a little on the forum here and most tend to think it's a narrower seat. They do have vinyl backs as oppposed to plastic.

For $40 i think its a score....i put in ford tempo seats in like half an hour...and i had to remove the cat-hump and weld it back up side down.

$40 seems like a good deal to me if they are nice. I'm sure you could make a profit if you decided not to use them in your Mav.

We have '81 Escort seats in our '72 daily driver Maverick. They fit good and the overall shape of them "looks" right in the Maverick.

Not quite enough leg room for my likeing, but I have grown used to it. With a little fine tuning as far as mounting position, they would be perfect. The seats were tan in color, those are just Wal-Mart seat covers on them, which fit surprisingly well.

Yes sir... They are for sale. Don't know what you call them though. They are off a 76 2 door Comet, but they look exactly like the ones on my 70 Mav. The car still has lots of parts if anyone needs anything. Still had the disc brakes. I helped a guy yank those off yesterday. I was hoping to get more responses about the seats.

I remember someone here stating they had Pinto seats

are the rest of us missing something here?:16suspect hope your not talking about pinto seats;)

as far as the pinto seats im sure there pretty close if not the same, at least the bolt pattern to the floor. no way to find out untill you get that bench out and test fit em. at most you'll probably just have to drill new holes in the floor

    good luck

NewtoFord, Your're not missing anything... especially if there's no interest in them. I picked up some parts yesterday... Derrick's advice. They are the rear side window trim pieces. Anyone need them. I have (2) complete in good shape.
