I never did really understand why Mavs are called Grabbers until today.
Heres the story, We took her out for her first real road test today.
We find a lonely country back road with a nice straight away. I look over at my son and tell him to time me 0-60. I drop her into firsthold the brake and rev to 1200 rpms...told him to tell me when to go...he gives me a nod and I shower down on her. The right rear wheel lights up and we dont move for what seems like an eternity...actually a second at the most...then she GRABS we are outta there like a slingshot...our entire bodies snapped back in the seats...I bring her out of first late...I'm in shock at this point...lol ... I push her into second and she burps the tires and our heads snap back I hit 60 when it was time to move her into 3rd...7.8 seconds with the wheel spin and shift miscue... I look over at my boy and he's a white as I am...hehe.. and we bust out laughin and high fivin..."bring on the rice burners" we both say at the same time. It was great fun.
Makes me wonder what it would do with posi trac and only carrying one person...guess I'll have to find out:D
Heres a pic just after run...lotta work left to do...but I think engine is ok:clap: :bananaman

mine RIPPED outta the upper box

:) Mine did the same thing...while leaving a half block long rubber streak. Now the shock is bolted to 2" square, thick wall tubing.

The car bites really hard when she does hook....I dont want to hurt her;)

while is was at it I relocated my shocks behind the rear end and used slapper bars...cheap 4 link with street functionality...gets REAL stiff when I nail it:bananaman

    whats happening here guys...

In my case I broke (actually bent) one of the spring perches on the rear end, the rear rotated more than it should have and ripped the top shock mount right out of the underbody. The spring perches are now reinforced and I have 4-leaf springs. Now the car just squats a little and goes!

Have yall looked at what I did to the leafs in the tech forum? It really helped the ride and the hook...she doesnt squat near as bad now.
I'd like your opinions on it.
    Thx rick
