Same here. I've had mine in the car for about 2 seasons. Before that, same case/gears/spool for 3 years. I pulled it apart for freshen up/checking things out and found that the tail bearing housing had broken out of the case and was laying in the back of the housing. Only issue it had was a louder than normal pinion bearing, but it had been that way since the day I put it together. I've seen WAR case 9" with full spool last 10 years behind 700 HP, but on the flip side, I've also seen 500 HP in front of an N case 9" rear with pro gears, good pinion support blow the caps right out of the case & take out the housing. I guess it's a crap shoot?

I've "heard" the same things, having no practical experience with an aluminum case I went with the higher end ring and pinion...9310 forged steel, lightened, polished and deburred. The amount of effort to rotate is considerably less than the pro gear in the old housing...this can be good or bad depending on how you look at it I guess...all this said...if it doesn't hold up well it won't be for for lack of not trying to do it right.
I learned alot settin this thing up...36/1000ths of pinion shims gave me what felt was the best meshing of the gears...1/1000th either way was too tight or too loose IMO..some would say that much shimming is too much but you have to realize this isn't a standard pro gear either.
    But PFFFFTT....it's all a crap shoot :p

You'll be fine. That light of a car won't even burden the aluminum case.
