The trans in the 250 i6 is a c-4 automatic. The c-4 bolts up to the 302 however you may need a new flexplate.

People correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not 100% sure.

I think he said it was a 3sp. on the colum. Not a c-4. Probably will have to change bell housing to matchup.

No matter what tranny it is, the 250 bell is same as the 302.
The flywheel/flexplate will bolt up, but the balance is wrong.
A clutch or converter will swap when the balance problem is solved.

If it is a manual tranny, then the clutch linkage will need to be totally changed to the V8 parts.

The transmission will bolt up if:
you get a new converter and the correct flex plate for the 302.
    That's the good news.....
The bad news is that the tranny that is connected to the 250 uses fewer clutches than the tranny for a 302 and the second gear servo is smaller. That means that you will probably burn the tranny up very quickly. You can make it last longer if you install (or have installed) a TransGo 40-2 reprogramming kit and a big (30000 lb rating) transmission cooler. The transmission will not take any abuse - so if you are going to hammer it then start out with a good rebuild and update it to the V8 clutch packs and an "H" servo for the second speed band. Then put in the reprogramming kit and the big cooler and it will last 10 years or more. (normal driving, on the street, with proper maintenance)
