would it be a Maverick that you previously owned or another car.

If you could have the car handed back to you in the condition it was when you originally purchased it would it be a previous Maverick or some other car you owned.

For awhile I thought about this and was torn between my 1970 v8 conversion Maverick that I bought from a good friend for $650 or if it would be my 1968 Galaxie 500 4 door Hartop that I bought that had the 390 BB A/C and C6 and 63,000 original miles and I paid $2000 for the car and drove the hell out of it for about 2.5 years then parked it in the barn where it sits today.

Well I have made up my mind and decided if I could have one car back in the condition it was in when I purchased it, it would be the Maverick that I bought from my best friend in high school. He had just redone all the body work, (almost no bondo) most of it was cut and weld/brazed in new metal, he had just installed a hurst comp dualgate shifter, shift kit in the tranny, changed the rear gears, and overhauled/freshend up the 302 engine, he had also just installed high back bucket seat from a Mazda and done some other interior work, then he decided he wanted something that was more comfy and had A/C and got better gas mileage and sold the car to me with all the goodies installed and ready to roll for $650. I had it a few months and smacked a phone pole/Tree with it and messed up the front fender bumper and some other stuff, with the limited resources back then I replaced the fender with one that I chopped two fenders in half to get one mostly rusted fender that I could work with, I eventually had the front end redone with new tie rods, ball joints and such and got it realigned but I never put the car back to it's former glory that my friend had built it to. I REALLY wish I could have that car back, in the condition that it was in the day I bought it from my buddy Donald, and even though I wound up getting into a lot of trouble (with the cops) in that car I really stand by the fact that it was the very best car that I ever owned.

It would definitely be my 1967 Ford Fairlane 500 that I had in high school and college. I also wouldn't mind having the car I spent a lot of time in from 1958 to 1965 (ages 0 to 7) - my mom's 1956 2-door, red-'n-white Mercury Montclair.

That's a coincidence, I just asked my dad (because I still own my first car/favorite car) and he said it'd be his 57 Fairlane 500 with a 352 Police Interceptor. One day I'm gonna find one and surprise him with it.....

Geeze, there are so many. But at the top would have to be my 1963 Mercury Monterey convertible which had a factory 390/4 bbl/4 speed. I've never seen another one. I sold it for $175 back around 1971.

I would take my original 71 Maverick back in a heartbeat.

My dad and I put so much work into it.

There isn't any one car I would like to get back. My dad's '71 Comet GT, or his old '84 Mustang GT would have to be my first two choices. The Comet is still floating around down in Florida, the Mustang was total wrecked in 2001 by the guy my dad sold it to in 1998. I'd love to have my grandpa's Boss 429 back in the condition it was in before the fire last year. And I'd really like to have my '74 Grabber back in the condition it was in in the summer of 2005 before the wreck. It may have been ugly and worn out, but I just really liked that car for some reason. No other Maverick is quite the same to me as that one was.

My 1983 Nissan 280ZX was the funnest car I ever had.

I also wouldn't mind my dads 76 Dodge van with the pullout futon-type bed in back, shag carpet, two captains chairs with a 6 slot drink holder (never figured that one out), and working sink. Did I mention it had the 440ci with headers and glasspacks:D

My Mom's Mint Condition 1970 Grabber ... sold to my uncle because my mother wanted a car with Power Steering. My uncle drove it until it fell apart from rust ... and then drove it some more .... :)
