Well, my hard work is starting to pay off!! Some of you may remember what my white Mav looked like. It sure don't look like that anymore! My Dad and I painted it today. Did the whole prep work, body work, wet sanding, the whole nine yards. The body work isn't perfect, and has some bubbles now but I really don't care. When I wax it this weekend it'll get rid of some of those bubbles. Can't wait to put the bumpers back on and all the chrome! I'm VERY happy with the results, even if they aren't perfect. It looks 1,000x better than it did!

Feedback widely accepted!! I'm proud of this car! Took almost a year an a half to get it this far. Still not done, but am done for a while, I'll tell ya! Whew! Thanks for all your help, guys (and gals)! I'll post some more pics when I have all the chrome on!

I'll also add this: Not bad for a 19 year old kid making a little more than minumum wage! Paint, primer, reducer, and hardener only cost me $164.

And, it's real nice paint. PPG Shopline. Cheapest red I could find was a Chrysler color called Colorado Red. $65/gallon. My Dad said it was one of the easiest paint jobs he ever did. The pictures actually make it look better than it is. But I still like it!

Edit: Also, time for some pinstriping!:D

anytime you can paint it yourself, save yourself the thousands of bucks, and have it turn out decent, you can always be proud tht YOU did it

i have painted 4 cars.. i LOVE painting.. just hate the bodywork

That looks like it turned out really well!(y) Sounds like a killer deal on paint too, usually red is one of the more expensive colors.

Looks good! I would hold off waxing it, to let the paint cure out. Check with the paint manufacturer most suggest between 30 - 90 days.
