Do you use UPS, Fed Ex or others and which are more safe affordable and timely? I have used snail mail to save on brokerage coming to Canada!
    Any ideas are welcome!

DHL is the most reasonable here in the states and there shipping times are the same or better than the rest. As long as DHL is around, i'll never use UPS or FedEx again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use UPS if I want it fast, they'll nail you on brokerage fees, but I think it's worth it, Fed-Ex would be my second choice.

Where do you find DHL? I see the trucks every now and then, but never seen an office.

I was using UPS for most everything, then couldn't ship a bumper for under $100 and USPS let me wrap it in brown paper and tape and ship it for $25 or so. So now I go USPS for everything except large boxes over 18" square.

I tried shipping a bumper by USPS, thought it was gonna be cheap, but they recently changed their rules and so they wanted $30 plus an extra $100 for oversize charge.

I like UPS for the medium size stuff, Fed Ex for the bigger stuff and USPS for the little boxes.

How recent was that? I just shipped two small bumpers by USPS about 2-3 months ago. I paid the $30 or so, but not an oversize charge of $100.

How much would FedEX charge for a small bumper, approximately?

I use FedEx most of the time. A lot cheaper on heavier or large parts. An Econoline bumper from RI to Utah was $75.00 UPS and $36.00 FedEx. Same time of delivery. I used FedEx to ship an NOS Maverick quarter from Winnipeg to RI, $70.00. Whenever I've sent things to Canada I used USPS, no brokerage fees. DHL will ship longer packages than anyone else, less money on others also. Not as many terminals though so they can be hard to find close by. They do offer a pick up service which is not that expensive.

Apparently the new rules came into effect in May when the stamp prices went up...at least that's what the counter people told me.

So, I just barely made it:p

EDIT--I looked at my feedback and those items were received May 30 and May 31... I sold both bumpers at $50 each and only $25-30 shipping...

I use UPS just because I can drop off what ever I want to ship to my shipping department at work and they take care of the rest. In a few days they stick a bill in my mail slot. No hassles.

I use FedEx Express and FedEx Ground. We get huge corporate discounts. I can't stand UPS. I'd rather ship a package through USPS than UPS. I've had more packages damaged and more damage claims denied by UPS than anybody else. Once upon they were the only game in town, and they still act like it.

(Sorry Dan, no offense to you. You ain't in the handling dept.)
