This is about the only thing, besides the yard, that I got completely finished Not sure if I will leave them black or take the paint off and go chrome. I WILL put in two new light sockets and illuminate all 4 red panels.
Is the tail light panel going to stay that color? Your answer will determine my answer to your color choice question.
Color? what is that? I have no idea what color things are going to be, which is the main reason there are so many colors on the car and all the parts are mismatched. Anna wants the light green metalflake offered on the new mustangs, I want...I don't know what i want. Deep blue, candy apple red, silver??? If I could ever nail down a color, things would start to look more uniform on the car even this early on (3-5 years before paint).
Well, then based upon your specific findings, I must conclude that the trim on tail lights could be any color. Mine are black on a dark merlot pearl Maverick. Chrome would look good on that color as well. I lean toward black for the lighter colors and chrome for the darker colors, but not always. It depends on the effect of the color that I'm trying to show off. So, there is my set in stone opinion on the bezel color.
I have a set of those and this choice is the reason they aren't on the car yet. The bobcat's have a black bezel and my Maverick has chrome ones....I like the chrome and besides that- nothing else on my car is black. Can they be chromed? I want to put them on.....but they just won't match with black bezels..... By the way- Ya Done Good!! Take care! Preston
Good luck, only took me 4 years to find them. I have had my eye on these since middle of last year and just recently got the previous owner to part with them I actually had 3 pairs that I was going to cut up and weld together to make my own, but 2 pairs ended up in part of the deal to get these. I will use the socket parts of the last pair to light up the inside part of these lights.
They fit in the same holes the stock one fit in, but you need to drill one more hole on the inner side, just a small 1/4" or 3/8" hole.
...and when you put in the other fixtures, you will need to make bigger hole. I found that cut-off wheel on a die grinder worked best me.
