    a 1972 restored green maverick with a v-8 and grabber hood.
    why are the doors and trunk lid still on it. it is much nicer to paint it with out having the tape lines in the jambs. just my 2 cents. you went really far to make it really nice. go the extra 5 minutes and do it all the way.

    It'll be taken apart to paint, thats the way they do things, they get the body staight and aligned before it's primed. I was there today, it looks awesome!

    I have not read all responses past this post, but IMO, I think it's always best to "clean the metal" meaning taking it all the way down. A goody body can get a good clean surface to paint with the right materials. You will also find that sometimes it's necessary to leave the paint on and sand as you stated in certain areas of the car. Maybe the car feels good and smooth at that point and taking it further will end up working against him to build it back up.

    I ususally let my body guy determine this and only instruct him I want very very, very little bondo on my cars as necessary.

    I decided I needed a bit of a Holiday, So I slummed it a bit and went to the Carlisle Mopar show for a few days, and when I got home this picture was waiting for me. Kinda funny, went to a Mopar show and I bought all the stuff I needed for my Maverick, some more POR 15, wiring clips, some paints from Eastwood, a Multi-Maverick model, some more Jonny Lightinings, Jim Osborne reproductions decals, and I almost bought a new set of 15X7 Magnums....

    o man i hope not! im a painter and a metal fabricator and iv been waching this post .im not a big fan of what they did with the grinder but i would have acid striped it myself and smoothed it out with filler and then have them primer and paint it.you could have saved yourself alot of money that way.
