I've got an opportunity to pick up a 74 6 cyl maverick with less than 100k original miles on the clock.

It's brown on brown, with tinted windows, and the paint and interior from what I see seem to be in outstanding to very good condition, as is the body.

    it's mine for $600.

to be honest with you, I can't keep it, I would either buy it for my pops, who would do a 5.0 conversion with it, or turn it for a profit.

If I turned it for a profit, I'd likely try to push it for $1500-2000. Could a 6 banger mav in good condition be worth this much??? Consider it would likely be bought out of state, so factor up to another grand in shipping.

    my reasons are twofold

    1. save what appears to be a nice original clean maverick and put it into the hands of a enthusiast
    2. make a buck or two off of it.

    what do you all think?

I know, pics pics, but for now, take my statement of condition, and go off that, THANKS!

hey jeremy, how's it going. i'd say the $600 price is pretty good. now adding a grand to it makes it not a great moneymaker. i wouldn't do it unless i planned on keeping it.:)

it's been going well. At long last the new rocker has been welded onto my 72 resto, and they're just about ready for the final stage of primer. The resto is going much slower than anticipated, but it's going.

I confirmed with my friend that this car is pretty much cherry inside and out. I may just pick it up and decide what to do with it later.

I try to sell my cars to "Maverick enthusiasts"....but none ever by them and I end up putting them on ebay and they all sell to "non-enthusiasts" or at least a "new" enthusiasts. I just saw pictures of one I sold a few years ago....it did not look pretty. Should have kept it. :(

so far i've been pretty lucky with my 4 eye mustangs, have sold em all to enthusiasts.

well, I told my friend that this car is cali smog exempt, and that a mustang 5.0 would work real nice in that car, and he flipped out and is buying it. he's NOT an enthusiast, but he IS hardcore anal with how he keeps his stuff up, so it'll go to a great home, and be mine when he burns out. I'll likely to a v8 transplant in it for him.
