It was so wierd. I walked into my grandmother's today and she handed me the picture. The wierd part is she didn't even know that the Maverick Round-up is going on much less about me going tomorrow. Anyway her's a picture of my Baby.

That hair was what all the cool guys had back then.

No I don't know the color Code for that but I do know it was single stage Acrylic Enamel. I am trying to think of the brand name of paint it was and it is on the tip of my tongue, it was the only paint my best friend in High School would use, Daaam can't think. I really liked the CJ hood scoop because the turning signals were actually hooked up and working, plus it fit just perfect on the Maverick hoods. Those Magnum 500's and the cast iron intake on that car I was told came off the same Boss Mustang, I don't know it for a fact but knowing the guy that built that car it was true.

The front seats came out of a Mazda or a Monza one or the other (can't remember which) They were fully reclining High back velour and black vinyl trim Bucket seats and were very comfortable to boot.

It had full instrumentation in the package tray I think it was 4 guages (stewart warner out of a race car) Tach mounted on the steering column and it was converted to a Floor sifter with a hurst comp. dual gate, also had the most killer stereo I had seen back in the day.

That picture was taken early to mid 90's about 4 or 5 years (maybe 6) after I graduated High School

The Engine was a mild 302 putting out about 300 HP with a Holley 650 4bbl and it was jetted over, but I don't know how much. I do know that the guy that built it got tired of the crappy MPG and tried to put the 2bbl intake and carb back on it and it would not run or idle with a 2bbl.

Those back tires got bald really quick in the few months following me purchasing it. I went to replace them and it wound up costing me around $400 for the 2 rear tires mounted and balanced, so needless to say even though the car would light the tires up really easy I controlled my urges after replacing the first set. LOL

I did and still do LOVE that car. Just wish I had respected it as much back then as I would of today.

I sold that damn thing for the Same thing I paid for it I think I sold it for $650 WITH the Magnum 500's and that CJ hood scoop, AND the stereo AND the amp in the trunk AND all the Grabber parts...... They really know what they are talking about when they say Hind Sight is 20/20.

1987 was the year I Graduated, So I was in style then but toward the mid 90's I held on to the Mullet a little too long. Now I am just an old hippy, LOL

It was good meeting you also, as well as everyone else I met. Lots of great people there. I hope it is close enough that I can be there next year as well
