I just bought back my 1973 Grabber. It has been gone for over 13 years! The guy who bought it from me sold it to someone else who used it to drag race with. He totally gutted it but It is still the same car with a lot of memories!! V8 auto was yellow and white, it is now pumpkin orange Ill send some pics after I get it home.
Very cool. I hope to get my hands on my dad's old '71 Comet GT again some day. Best I can do for now is keep track of where it's at.
Mark, This is great news. Finding YOUR car and getting it again is wonderful. You are certainly cornering the Mav market in your neck of the woods! How many does this make, 4or5? Still planning on finishing the one you had in your garage when I picked up the Sprint? Again, congrats! Jim
I will finish the 71. I stripped it down saturday and it is going to the body shop. I will pick up my aussie 250 head soon. The 73 grabber is in really sad shape! They painted it dukes of hazzard orange and it looks like they used a wagner power sprayer they painted every thing literally!, and compleatly gutted the interior. My wife has the camera at six flags today so I will have to get pics later. This will be a big undertaking!
Lucky I sold my red '74 Maverick Grabber of whitch I bought new, in 1988. I don't know what I was thinking. I have tied many times to buy it back but I was told to leave them alone! The guy I sold it to is now up there in age so he gave the car to his Son. I lost track of it and haven't seen it in 4 years. I will still keep my eyes open though, you never know!
Great news. About a year and a half ago I was able to buy back my '72 Grabber. It was the very first car I ever owned. Tony
My first car was a 75 4 door 250 manual. It had 36,000 miles on it and was like new. I used it as transportation and raced my 72 comet gt. After high school. I sold the comet and traded in the mav on a 1987 nissan pick up I should have never done that! I later traded the p/u for an 88 5.0 mustang which was totaled out by my soon to be ex girl freind! The 73 grabber followed much later, but holds fond memories. Pics to be added soon!
