Man! I remember cruising with my uncle in his '62 Falcon and later in his '69 Camaro. Those days seem just like yesterday and, at the same time...a lifetime ago.

When was the last time a good rock song was written about a car?

Wow...that really got me psyched up for Cruising-The-Coast coming up in October. I love that time of year! CTC brings us over 5000 vintage cars of all makes and models for 8 days of cruising and showing, including drag racing, sock hops, flame throwing contests, oldies concerts, burnouts, MAVERICK/COMET MINI-MEET, and just tons of fun.
As mentioned above, I am planning for a mini-meet during our annual CTC on the Gulf Coast so anyone wanting to come down to the coast for a spectacular event needs to start making plans now. I'll post a new thread in a few days. (y)

I think Springsteen was the last one to write a rock song about cars. That was the mid 70's wasn't it???

The first video MTV showed in 1981 was some fairy looking guy singing a song called "Cars" and it had some kind of funky techno beat. I wouldn't call it rock. I think Metallica did one. But I can think of one that just stands out hits me.

    That was probably Gary Neuman.

I "think" the first video on MTv was "Video Killed the Radio Star".

You are right on both accounts and I didn't, don't, and won't care for either of those songs.
