was riding around today and went through a neighborhood near where i'm moving this w/e and turn a corner caught a small glimpse of the back of a ole mav` the car was under a carport and surrounded by a mid 90's z28 and a early 70's gto and some little imports so i could not see it to well, but i did notice the grabber stripe down the side and the side of the scoops on the hood and has the old mav hubcaps. looks like its been sitting for a few years a little dusty. thinking about stopping by and asking about it in the next day or so.....and im including a pic i scrounged up on the forum of what it looks like. the color anyways. the stripes are black

Cool...I saw one that color combo come thru town here a couple years ago. I wonder if it might be the same one. Haven't seen it since.

never know....theres ALSO a 74 comet gt running around here i see it like once a year. its lighter green, halo roof, tan vinyl bucket seats, floor shifter, black rear, cragers. 302-c4 auto near mint and near original, that i kick myself in the a** everytime i see it, because 10 years ago at the ripe ole age of 15 i could have had that car for *drum roll* $950 and my parents talked me out of it because it wasnt "economical" so i had to settle for a primer 87 nissan sentra....and thats the real downside of it :rofl2:

I work in Pascagoula (on the coast). Someone told me they thought the car might be located somewhere around Lucedale about 40 miles north of here.

edit: Nevermind fredee...you know where I am. I now realize you weren't talking to me.

i remember seeing a maverick sitting on i believe highway 27 in utica going towards port gibson. i never stopped to look at it, but i lived in utica for nearly 6 years (why i dont know) and im sure its still sitting there, but i know it was NOT a grabber or anything special, but it might still have some good parts possibly. but the entire time i lived out there i know the car never moved from its spot. in fact i know where quite a few "Rarities" are sitting in utica, but the person that owns them will just keep letting them rot in the yard

I know CaptainComet was selling one, dunno if it ever sold, i considered buying it myself, but instead got my 96 Camaro SS :drive: and traded another car i had for a maverick. but i know his is "almost" identical to the 74 gt running around here somewhere......man i wish i could find that car rather than just see it pass on the otherside of the interstate once in a blue moon.

also dont know how far your willing to travel but here a 74 gt 302 / 3-speed http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/8/7/89514687.htm

Matter of fact...October 6th of this year on the Mississippi Coast...already in he works. You guys need to start planning now. It's gonna be during Cruising The Coast so there will be thousands of cars to see during the meet!!! I'll post more about it next week.
