I am aware that it's not "true" DONK, but it still has a DONK look about it.

You're right, it doesn't matter if I'm sick of hearing that particular comment, but I really fail to see the point of stating the obvious (as if we didn't know) like that. It has been stated in other threads as well.

Your opinion is valid, I never said it wasn't. Just don't try to discredit mine by saying something obvious like "It's his car.", because that doesn't change the way it looks nor does it change my opinion of it.

I'm glad he likes his new wheels. I like mine, others prefer something else altogether. We (including myself) should also remember that they are just a bolt-on component. He could easily decide to put different wheels & tires on it years from now. I could do the same thing with mine (in fact I already intend to go wider on the rear at some point).

In the end, there's no harm done. It's all good...

    I agree completely.

I don't think he was being defensive at all. it was a discussion, and he seemed happy to discuss it. He seemed happy to tell everyone what he was doing, show pics, and not worried about anyone not liking it.

If no one here cared what anyone said, there would be no reason to tell/show anyone what they are doing, nor would there be any motivation to discuss it...

i really dont recall ever saying the my car was remotley close to "FOOSE" if you can show me where i said that i will kiss you a**, all i remember saying is that i would not mind having a "foose" look because i like his work. and as far as defending anything.....i dont believe i have "Defended" anything if that was the case i would have told T.L. and everybody else that disapproved where they could stick it, but it did not they can say whatever they want, i could point out a few things on alot of peoples cars on this forum that i disapprove of, but until they make a post regarding their vehicles i will keep my mouth closed.....now however this post is in defense to be told im doing something that im not :naughty:

While the Maverick in question, with the 20" wheels, is not radically out of line, I would still not vote for it at a car show. If I saw it a show, I would pass by it and not even look anything else on or in the car simply on my seeing just the wheels. As far I am concerned, wheels either make the car or destroys it. I do not like wheels bigger than 17" on classic cars and never will. That is my preference.

There will be a lot people who will like your car with those wheels, tires, and stance; mostly the younger crowd. Most old farts like me will not. Build your car the way you want. I probably won't like anything you do just because I don't like the wheels and that will be my main focus on your car. But, I'm just one person and you don't have to do anything to please me.

I find it interesting that you asked for opinions after you ordered the rims. I gotta say, you have a lot of guts ordering something that big. I cant believe they actually fit as well as they did. Personally, I like the look of 15" wheels on any old car. I like the look of a lot of black rubber in the wheel well. Low profile tires and big wheels have more of a modern look. I have seen some older cars slammed down over big wheels that i liked the look on, but thats an expensive proposition. I have seen some posts on here about fitting a 275/60 R15 on the rear with a correctly back spaced 8" wide rim. Thats what I would like. Yours is a nice looking rim, but not knowing what they cost, I would be wondering if they werent disproportionally expensive. Id wonder if they were worth more than the whole car. I do like them better than the mustang rims. Variety and differance is what makes cars interesting to look at. If I were given a choice of seeing 1000 mavericks grabbers all bone stock show cars, or a field of 1000 mavericks being a mix of stockers, racecars, pro-street, pro touring, disco painted, 4 wheel drive monster truck, donks, Lambo doored Sterio sporting and Grabber strech limousines, I would find that more interesting.

I think you need to see Maverick Man for one of his carbon fiber Grabber hoods. That has a modern look to it and would balance out the overall look of the car. :thumbs2: Good luck with it!

:hmmm: I'm gonna need to speak to Maverick Man about commision if I am gonna sell these hoods

I don't think he ever asked for any opinions. He simply stated that he got those wheels for his car.

I pretty much agree with everything else that you said though...

I haven't seen them on the car yet either.
Can't say I hate it until I see the wheels in situ.
Until then I say good luck and I hope you like them.

LOL Who can remember the begining of the thread and if he asked for opinons. Who cares? We are give'n 'em anyway!

    Comparison:
    [IMG][IMG]

I would like to know exactly how much they lifted the car. At least an inch I'd say. Lift is a bad thing. But I like the look of the rims. It grows on me the more I look at it. They dont look as big as they are.

Those wheels look great...(yes I'm under 142yrs old...LOL :D)....Now the only thing you need is to give me those wheels for the Awesome Friend Discounted (aka AFD) price of about $Free:yahoo:.

Seriously though, I would like some info from you.....

What kind of spacers are you running?
Does it feel real dodgey (i guess you would say?)?

You really got my mind going...I doubt I will do 20s due to $$$, but I want to do 20s in the rear and tub my car in the future when I have another daily driver. I am thinking also about lowering mine some, not too sure how much but that will also be the time of the mini-tub. And now I really want black wheels on my soon to be silver-ish car!:tiphat:
