Hey Members, I am the original owner of a 1973, 6 cyl. two door Maverick. I have decided it is time to sell, and would like some advice on what it is worth. The car has never been in an accident but has some rust through in front and in back of both rear wheel fenders. It also has some rust starting on one door bottom and on bumpers. There are under 100,000 miles on it, runs good, but 3 speed automatic slips. The interior is in very good condition but needs new carpet and dash pad. It has high back bucket seats and automatic select-shift on the floor, rear window defrost and metallic glow dark green paint. The car was a daily driver untill 1996 and since then has been just sitting around. NADA says a car in poor shape is worth about $1300.00. I have the original window sticker and build sheet and can you believe that the car new, with options and delivery was $3054.57 and provided transportation for 26 years? The car is in Washington State and any thoughts you have would greatly be appreciated. THANKS, Doug
As always, its hard to say what a car will sell for but my opinion is probably in the $900 area providing there are no rusted structural areas. Its a shame to sell a car you've had for so long. I also bought my Maverick new in 72 and only paid around $2500 for it. Good luck.
I picked up a Gold 73 Comet, original owner, 57,000 miles, 302 cu in, no rust, perfect interior, straight body, factory floor shift C-4, in north Seattle for $500.... Price depends on how much a person is willing to pay for it. Don't think you have a gold mine.... Not many interested in these cars....
