For windshield for my 70 Mav. I need both the front and back. If anyone has any extra clear glass without scratches they would like to sell, let me know. I am kickign myself now for not grabbing them off the last 7-8 cars I've seen at the boneyards. Too busy scoping out other things.

I went today and there was a 70 there and the front was cracked and the back was intact, but was heavily pitted. I was thinking today was my lucky day when I saw the car from afar... smiled and everything, then I was dissapointed.

If anyone knows where to buy them also, let me know. I got quoted a price of $267 for a new glas and $379 or so to install it with the rubbe and all. I honestly think I can do both windows for this price... Maybe not??

    Thanks

Wow, has the price of glass gone up that much??. I paid around $150 for my windshield---in 1989. I still have it on my car too. It's no longer perfect, but not in too bad of shape for how old it is...

I just inquired about a new windshield and was quoted $350.00 installed.

But Maverick windshields haven't. Remember what VCRs or DVD players used to cost? They are dirt-cheap now...

But there's a lot of competition driving THOSE prices down. Not a lot of Mavericks getting windshields put in them every day. I have windshields installed in my shop every week and my average cost is about $200 for late model cars. Competition and insurance companies keep those prices down. When you figure in the cost of the windshield gasket and the extra labor to seal it and guarantee it not to leak, $350 is a very good deal. I've installed many Maverick windshields and believe me, it is NO fun trying to seal these babies up. My present blue car still has leaks. :(

I replaced my windshield last year. I was looking for the reciept, but couldnt find it. I was asked if it had to be ford. I said no, just new. I am pretty sure it was 250-275 installed in my driveway. You will need to have the rubber gasket and maybe some trim clips. My glass was made in Finland by Arva. I wouldnt even consider buying used glass. cant beat a new piece of glass

I paid around $120-150 6 months ago for my front glass from All Star Glass. Ken paid the same from a smaller shop in SanBernardino. We installed them ourself not very hard except for the trim clips, I hate them.

Speaking of looking high and low. Learned a lesson at the yard this weekend. I found a very good glass, clear, clean, no scratches. WHAT DO YOU THINK I DID. Yep... you got it. Cracked it trying to get it out. I learned though, if I find another one to cut the rubber, then remove the glass from it rather than trying to get the rubbe abnd glass out together. There was another Mav there, but I was so distrot about cracking the other glass, I walked. The glass on the second car was not as clean.
