    Well, having owned both, and having modified both, I am not so quick to dismiss the Mustang II. Your trade has far too many variables for me to comment, but the front suspension, the wider popularity of 4 speeds, the rack and pinion steering, the standard power steering and brakes make the Mustang II a value. I sure don't like all of em, just like I don't like all Mavericks, but if I could choose between a big bumpered V-8 equipped Mav and a similarly equipped II, I just might choose the II, depending on condition.

    I guess if you are looking for people to support your decision to go with the Mav, a Maverick BB would probably be the place to get the answer you appear to want to hear.

    I've got to agree with Max. I love my Maverick...but I have to admit that I have a passing fascination with the MII's. Especially the Cobra versions. They are very capable cars when built right and due to the number of people wanting them to donate their front suspension they have got to be becoming rare. After all, who would have expected our Mavericks to be going up in value the way they have??? I guess what I'm saying is that if it's up to you, get what YOU want and what you're passionate about. But don't judge by me, I see beauty even in GM vehicles!

    Excellent. :thumbs2: And what "dad" wants their kid to have a car with NOS, anyway? Seems really strange to me...

    You would have regretted it years down the road from now. You'd be saying "man I wish I still had that car!"...

    Even though, as a Dad, I might have bought a car, and even pay insurance on a car for my son.....if I gave it to him as "his" car, I'd never make him sell it for another if he didn't want to.....especially for a car I liked.

    That's not to say I wouldn't stop him from selling a car I bought and paid for to get another if I didn't think it was a good deal!

    In other words,....If I were your dad, and YOU wanted to sell your Maverick to buy the Cobra II....I'd probably have said no.

    Yeah, I know....kind of a double standard.....but paying the bills does have it's priviledges! LOL

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Now, all you have to do is talk your Dad into going ahead and buying the Cobra II for himself (then just ask to borrow it now and then! :D)
    So how much was the MII going for? I may be close enough to take a look at it. :clap:
    Yeah, I've heard that one like 20 times from different persons. These cars are memorable, and they're more when they have V8's of course. Seriously, thank you dad and enjoy your Mav to the max.
    My dad talked me into buying my Fiat (and I'm glad he did). I bet it's at least as fast as that II with NOS, if not faster.
