    Hello

I just made another mistake as I went to the junkyard and grabbed 2 different Motorcraft 2150 carburetors (1st from a F150 custom an old one with a 351 engine and 2nd from a Mustang look a like Mercury Capri with a V6) trying to inexpensively upgrade my 250 I6 to 2 bbl carburetor, I also went down to the local "top notch" racing and accessories store and order a 2 bbl to 1 bbl adapter which I will have to pick-up tomorrow afternoon and also a rebuild kit for one of the carburetors (I picked the latest one from the Capri E4SE-CA) as it's got a 6 cylinders engine so I thought this one could fit better my needs, but I just started looking at them and the throttle rod that comes from the accelerator cable would not match the side of the carburetor

Please take a look at Mr. NewtoFord's gallery to better understand the scenario

And this is the new carburetor:

If any of you have any ideas, part numbers, adapters, etc to suggest, please go ahead!

Thanks for reading and if any ideas don't hesitate to post :dancing:!

Clifford Perfromance makes an adapter to put a regular Ford 2-bbl on 200/250 inline 6 intake manifold.

depending on the adapter it probably had diffrent mounting holes so that you can orient the carb in diffrent directions. the bottom of my adapter had 4 holes even though you only use 2 just so you can rotate it and its only like $20 new from summit racing.com. i dont know how much time money and effort you have invested in that carb but its probably going to be worth it to just pick up a used 2300 or 5200(what I have) because both of those are pretty much bolt on and also seem to be favorites over on fordsix.com.

Do you still remember the car parts ?

Hey Newtoford, do you still remember the car parts number for your adapter :hmmm: as the one I went to pick-up today just has one way to set of holes to bolt to intake manifold bud if I could get one with that 90 degrees turn I could always install any of the carburetors I got at the junkyard (I also picked up today the rebuild kit for the one I grabbed from the Mercury Capri) and of course if I don't feel like any improvement I would then have to order a big leaguer carb (Holley 2300 or 5200) but I didn't want to sped that much on the carburetor mods as I still have in mind to go for a V8 302 swap and I have a guy who is selling one but has to be rebuilt before installed and also the 351 from the old F150 custom that I saw at the junkyard and that I know for sure I could get that engine for pennies but that I would also have to rebuild it (and I don't think that any of my buds nor myself are good enough to rebuild it) as the guy who's got the 302 said on the phone "you might as well change gaskets and rebuild it before you drop it in as you don't want to pull it out once it will be installed, he also has a manual 4 speed tranny and manual pedal setup for sale. But I would have to spend WAY TO MUCH money for all that so I wanted to go easy on the engine mods and maybe go for major mods next spring as where I'm living down here in Quebec due to the weather and the calcium they spread on the streets to melt the snow and ice there is NO WAY :naughty: I'm driving my car during winter time .

aside from those 2 items you'll need a few nuts and bolts, new piece of fule line between the pump and carb, inline fule filter, air cleaner and a kick down cable unless you want to do it manually on the shifter(assuming you have a C4) you may also want to convert it from the water heated choke.

all together i think the investment was well worth it since it made the car so much more nicer to drive and i figured it wouldnt be that much of a loss of a v8 ever comes my way
