Went to a local car show today with my orange car. I had 4 classes I could enter the car in: Stock, Custom, Cruiser, or Still Working on it (Honestly...those were the classes). I figured my car really isn't stock anymore.....so I went with Custom class. I got a top 25 for the overall show....but each class had trophies as well. I won Best Engine in my class. I was in the Custom class with cars/trucks with blowers and multi-carb set-ups.....an I get best engine??? I thought that was interesting.
It's nice to win, especially when you aren't expecting it. I've always thought that it doesn't matter how much money is under the hood, as long as your engine compartment is clean and neat. Apparently you had both of those things working for you today. Nice job!
Good job Craig. Did you drive it to the show. If so, which I doubt, was it within 1 mile from your house?
It was about 30 miles from the house.....so of course I dro.......I mean I trailered it. I would have drove it...but I have a slight tranny rear seal leak that I need to get fixed.
I honestly don't recall.....but the car that won Best Stock was a 1968(?) AMC Rogue with a built and chromed 304 and Cragars.
Way to go Craig! Congrats! That is one beautiful Maverick. I have to agree with Sam. A super clean engine compartment makes all the difference in the world, and that is definitely one clean engine compartment.
