    With all these Fastest street car shootouts happening at a lot of tracks, who has the fastest street driven Maverick or Comet?

    I know I ran a slow 12.80 in street form a few years ago but the Mav is a trailer queen now!

    Pretty sure Jim Allen went a 9.9x in the 1/4 and I know Jim Larson has went a 9.99 in the 1/4, both cars have been driven to the shows and events. I don't know that they are the fastest but they are prety damn fast and street driven.

    Define streetable.

    My idea is being able to stop at any gas station on a 500 mile trip(meaning no race gas.....

    My car ran a best 12.65 and more in it. Not sure how mucg more but I think 12.30s wer possible. I never ran the car on a good cold night. Nor did I ever get serious about making the 60 ft better than a 1.83

    Certainly not going to win the fastest street car but it did all right

    11.98 after driving 45 minutes to the track. DR tires and a BENCH SEAT in the front! I know there are MUCH faster cars out there but how many of them truly drive it on the street as often as possible? My neghbor has a 9sec GT that he says is streetable yet he will not drive it more than 4 or 5 miles from home due to it being tempermental.

    Looking at the timeslip database, I just can not fathom the Lentech Maverick sitting in a 7-11 parking lot! Would look cool though!!

    Spookie went 10.50's in the 1/8. It looked fast when it abused a scooter at the Roundup.

    According to the most "street" rules at the track, the amount of driving doesn't matter, they just have to have mufflers, DOT tires, plates and insurance and be street legal(lights, etc.). I could drive my orange Maverick to the track, but I prefer to trailer it so that I am not hitching a ride home when it breaks. It hasn't yet, but I am sure that it would do it as soon as I didn't.

    My Mav is on the trailer for the same reasons, but it also gave me a reason to put it on a diet!

    I've driven to columbus to race and didn't need no stinking Trailer.

    Come on Be a man...........:stirthepot::rofl:

    Good point though I have been surprised that other than a broken Ujoint in a street exhibition meant to impress my wife, I have had no issues that wouldn't let me get the car home. Broken a few valve springs but limped home. Got pissed and decided to recreate the car all over again. It will be faster,better,Stronger and my wallet will be oh so empty......
